Laurie LoRe-Gussak, MBA, IOM, CAE

We are so excited to be providing our 15th Annual SportsAbility Sampler at the Family Café!! For anyone that has not attended in the past, the Annual Family Café has brought Floridians with all types of disabilities together for three days of information, training, and networking. With a great range of individual breakout sessions, a packed Exhibit Hall with dozens of vendors, and a series of special events including Keynote speakers and The Governors’ Summit on Disabilities, The Annual Family Café offers attendees exposure to resources on a grand scale, unprecedented access to policy-making officials, and a chance to network with other individuals with disabilities and their families.

The SportsAbility Sampler at the Café will have numerous hands-on activities, including tennis, SCUBA, archery and target games. Resource providers will be there to provide information on adaptive water-skiing, adaptive surfing, accessible boating and more!

In addition, we are lucky to have live animal experiences provided by Gatorland. If you have time when you are in Orlando, I encourage you to visit Gatorland. They have so many educational programs AND they are home to the Gator Gauntlet. Now guests with mobility challenges can enjoy zip lining too, only at Gatorland! You can soar 350 feet through the air and defy gravity while gliding over the Alligator Breeding Marsh, complete with one hundred and thirty giant alligators watching from below! I have tried this with my family and it was safe and exhilarating!!

Please thank Gatorland for sponsoring the SportsAbility Sampler at the Family Cafe! We couldn't do this without them!
